Hampstead Townhouse

Private Residence

The client had lived in the house since the 1980’s, and whilst much loved, it needed a major refurbishment and modifications. The internal layout was reconfigured to create new bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces, and an elegant contemporary rear glazed kitchen extension was added, improving the connection to the reimagined external landscape.

Extensive sympathetic repairs and refurbishment were undertaken, including the delightfully complex and colourful external Victorian brickwork. Internal ceilings, cornicing, and panelled doors were all carefully restored, and the centre-piece, a grand, wrought iron and stone stair was painstakingly hand cleaned, sanded and resealed to preserve its beautiful patina.

The finished design compliments the distinctive character of the historic building, adding a new contemporary layer for 21st century living and creating a fine setting for the client’s extensive art collection.
